About Grupo Valcas

The origins of Grupo Valcas date back to 1942 when Jesus Valdes founded the original company in Mexico City. Don Jesus Valdes had early success in his low-income affordable developments by offering payment plans and developer financing to many first time homeowners and made it a personal priority to develop some of the first affordable communities with full indoor plumbing and utilities.

In 1965 the company adopted the name Grupo Valcas. Valcas set new industry standards for master planned urban communities with the development of projects like Bosques del Lago, a mid-to-high end residential development in Mexico City featuring a 36 hole championship golf course and country club, a first in the country. During the 1960's and early 70's, Grupo Valcas developed and marketed more than 25,000 home sites and dwellings in various parts of Mexico, including Mexico City, Toluca, Puebla, and Merida.

Grupo Valcas foresight in the tourism development in Mexico allowed for the planning and development of master planned resort destinations designed for the international tourism market. Grupo Valcas participated in the original promotion of Isla Mujeres as an international destination and is responsible for the planning and financial structure of Playa del Secreto, a 120-acre resort property located in the Riviera Maya (Cancun-Tulum corridor) with more than a mile of beachfront property developed with condominiums, villas, and a luxury hotel. Grupo Valcas was also a participant in the planning and execution of the Marina Peņasco Resort in Sonora, Mexico, consisting of a private marina, 200-room luxury hotel, timeshare units, villas and condominiums.

In 1975, Grupo Valcas initiated development and construction of the Bajamar Ocean Front Golf Resort, a master planned golf community located 45 minutes south of the San Diego-Tijuana Border along the scenic toll road to Ensenada.

Grupo Valcas currently has four major master planned communities in Northern Baja California to be developed in the near future: Bajamar Punta Diamante, Vinas de Bajamar located directly across from Bajamar, Rancho Tecate Resort & Country Club, located in the beautiful mountains of Tecate and Playas San Fermin, in the warm and paradisiacal coasts of the Sea of Cortes, south of San Felipe. All of these projects are in close proximity to the US border. The unique and diverse products offered within our project portfolio addresses the rapidly increasing second home and retirement real estate markets driven by the baby-boomer, eco-tourism, medical tourism, environmentally friendly building and long-term sustainability.
